On their new full-length, Rare Forms, Woodsman take full advantage of one of Germany’s finest exports: the mechanical, “motorik” 4/4, or what Neu! drummer Klaus Dinger once called the “Apache Beat.” Still, their music evokes something more bucolic than the steel and asphalt of the autobahn.
